**External Title**:Financial Analyst (FP&A) **Internal Title**:Business Analyst **Location**:Canada Remote **Reports to Title**_:_** Finance Director **The Role**: The **Financial Business Analyst** works as part of the corporate finance team within **JD Power**. Responsibilities include reviewing company-wide operating and capital expenditures, preparation of detailed analysis and assisting the Finance Director with month end closing and forecasts. Key success factors for this position include an analytic and problem-solving mind, attention to details, competence with spreadsheet and database software, a strong aptitude in working with complex systems, and strong people and communication skills. The Business Analyst is a fast learner and logical thinker, comfortable with a "hands-on" approach plus exceptional attention to detail and accuracy while meeting tight timelines. **Responsibilities**: - Work with JDP source systems (Netsuite, Coupa, OpenAir) to extract relevant data for analysis and reporting - Month end closing including analysis of opex and capex expenditure trends, review purchase orders, invoice trends and preparation of relevant journal entries - Validation of expenditure data to derive major trends for monthly forecast updates - Assist the Finance Director in the preparation of monthly reports for internal stakeholders including commentary on major forecast and budget variances - Engage in ad hoc analytics as requested by the department stakeholders - Ability to communicate effectively with senior levels of management - Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work timely with a high degree of accuracy - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines - General knowledge of business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations - Ability to set and manage priorities - Self-motivated, directed, and detail-oriented **Qualifications**: - University degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience - Required minimum 3 - 5 years Financial or Management Accounting experience including month end closing processes and reporting - Required working knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) - Completion or pursuit of a professional accounting designation (CPA CA, CMA, or CGA) considered an asset but not required - Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and the office suite. Expertise in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.) required - Must be detail-oriented and execute with a high-level of accuracy - Prior working experience with large scale enterprise accounting systems and financial analysis tools (Hyperion, TM1, Netsuite EPBCS etc) - Must be able to work independently with mínimal direction - Sense of urgency and goal-oriented - Must have strong organizational and time management skills - Strong written and oral communication skills - Ability to manage multiple assignments, projects and tasks concurrently - Must be self-motivated and results-driven with a strong work ethic - Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to the company's changing needs **The Career Opportunity**: Growth opportunities are significant, both within the finance teams as well as across the organization.
