**SUMMARY**:
**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:(but not limited to)
- Write up contract for Social Assistance Transfer (SAT) and maintain files.
- Keep well-informed of Income Security manual directives and regulations to ensure a proper administration and implementation of the Income security program in accordance with the Income Security policy manual.
- Work with Finance Director, TFN resources, and clients to strengthen the delivery of the Income Security program, so that it reflects the social and economic development goals and objectives of the TFN members.
- Consult ISC/ FNQLSSC for clarification and procedures.
- Obtain and photocopy documentation needed for clients’ file.
- Prepare quarterly report and enter data reporting to ISC/FNQLSSC using Horizon.
- Prepare pre-authorizations document between the Hydro, Receiver General, rent, and/or other repayment plans for client.
- Encourage/assist clients to participate in programs of self-help.
- Maintain up-to-date files on clients (documentation, notes from meetings with clients, etc ) and ensure that files are secure. (Annual review and up-date)
- Knowledge of resources in and outside the community.
- Enter data for quarterly reporting to ISC/FNQLSSC using Horizon
- Supervise Pre-employment support program
- Search supportive funding and prepare required proposal
- Prepare monthly benefit payments in ACCPAC for cheques and direct deposit
- Set up workshops, seminars, and information sessions as required

**Duties also expected of the Income Assistance Administrator**:

- Conduct client interviews over the phone to evaluate and integrate these details into a shared case plan.
- Make referrals to other agencies.
- Meet each client monthly for Beneficiary Statement.
- Prepare yearly income statements for each client of that year (Summary 5).

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:

- Develop and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of clients and team members within the workplace, or community and/or government departments and agencies.
- Knowledge of multicultural perspectives, interviewing skills, the impacts of poverty and principles of Social Work.
- Using a solution focused and strength-based approach.
- Knowledge of poverty and socio-economic issues and how they impact people; multicultural beliefs, values and perspectives, with particular emphasis on First Nation and Metis; and principles, practices and ethics of social work.
- Competencies in human services and/or education and client service work experience.

**KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS**:

- Client-service oriented, respectful and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Dependable and must possess good judgment.
- Good communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Available for training (may require travelling).
- Must have a good work ethic.
- Possess excellent organizational skills.
- Must always present themselves in a professional manner.
- Must possess conflict resolution skills.
- Absolute confidentiality is essential.
- Bilingualism would be considered an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
