As a Professor in the School of Environmental & Natural Resource Sciences, you will participate in the curriculum development process and will provide academic leadership and collaboration within teaching teams to ensure the consistent delivery of assigned courses to a large group of diverse students. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing academic excellence and achieving course learning outcomes by creating an effective learning environment through sound design, teaching, assessment, and curriculum review practices. Faculty teach in teams and develop/deliver curriculum in a variety of ways including: lectures, labs, field camps, and work placements.

**What We Are Looking For**:
You possess a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Science/Studies, Ecology, or Conservation Biology (or a related field of study), along with a minimum of 5 years of current, progressive work-related experience. You have demonstrated experience working in collaboration with industry partners and/or government agencies, along with experience and success in teaching or training large and diverse groups, with proven strategies for innovative and effective classroom management.
- Conservation science focused on issues such as biodiversity crisis and climate change
- Experimental design and data collection
- Database management, statistical methods, data quality assurance/quality control measures, analyses of data; and preparing reports describing scientific research and analysis
- Monitoring and assessment of habitat availability and quality with consideration of associated biodiversity and impacts of relevant stressors
- Inventory, monitoring, and management of wildlife populations including Species at Risk
- Demonstrated knowledge of invertebrate taxonomy and/or biology
- Demonstrated applied research experience consistent with evidence-based approaches to conservation decisions, policy, and practice
- Applied knowledge of ecological assessment, natural/biological resources management, and habitat conservation planning
- Experience developing and working with externally funded research programs is considered an asset
- Experience teaching University-level courses is considered an asset

This role also requires self-motivation, flexibility, and a passion for learning and student success. You will focus on enhancing the student experience by creating a rich and open learning environment that embraces diversity and providing a learning environment which motivates and engages learners. This position can be physically demanding as you will be assigned to work and teach during outdoor field experiences in a variety of weather conditions.
