Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Front End Deli/Meat Clerk to join our team and contribute to the success of our deli and meat departments. As a Front End Deli/Meat Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining product displays, assisting customers with their selections, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the deli and meat areas. Your enthusiasm for food and dedication to delivering a positive shopping experience will be vital in promoting customer satisfaction and departmental growth.

Key Responsibilities:

- Greet customers warmly and provide them with assistance and recommendations in selecting deli and meat products.
- Offer product knowledge and answer customer questions regarding ingredients, preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Handle customer orders promptly and accurately, ensuring their specifications are met.
- Prepare and package deli items, such as meats, cheeses, sandwiches, and salads, following established guidelines for quality and presentation.
- Ensure that all products are fresh, properly labeled, and organized in the display case and shelves.
- Rotate products to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage, following first-in, first-out (FIFO) principles.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including display cases, cutting tools, utensils, and counters.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handwashing and sanitation procedures.
- Regularly clean and sanitize equipment and surfaces to prevent cross-contamination.
- Monitor inventory levels of deli and meat products and notify the supervisor when items are running low.
- Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries, verifying the accuracy of orders and inspecting products for quality.
- Actively promote special offers, promotions, and new products to customers to drive sales and enhance their shopping experience.
- Suggest complementary products to customers based on their preferences and needs.
- Work cooperatively with other team members in the deli and meat departments to ensure smooth operations and efficient customer service.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address any issues or concerns.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a customer service or food-related role is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of different types of meats, cheeses, and deli products.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
