Financial Controller

Quik's Farm Ltd. is a wholesale cut flower grower based in Chilliwack, BC, with over 20 acres of indoor and 20 acres of seasonal outdoor growing space. Quik’s Farm is geared towards the intense production of cut Chrysanthemums, Oriental Lilies, Alstroemeria, and other seasonal crops. We utilize state-of-the-art growing systems and leading-edge technology to produce high quality products for our diverse customer base throughout Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest USA.

Currently, we are hiring a full-time **Financial Controller**. This position is responsible for overseeing accounting activities, to ensure records accurately reflect incoming and outgoing company funds. This position offers you an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, fun-loving, and growing team.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Responsible for full cycle accounting functions, including**:

- **Leadership of finance team.**
- **Preparation of internal financial statements.**
- **Preparation of all statutory reporting related to taxes.**
- **Preparation of financial statements for review and reporting by external accountants.**
- **Financial reporting**:

- **Report to financial institutions.**
- **Presentation of detailed financial performance against budgets, and other key metrics.**
- **Presenting Monthly Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash flow, etc.**
- **Maintain up to date financial budget, including CAP EX projects.**
- **Form integral part of Management Team, including reporting to Management.**
- **Attendance at Monthly Management Meetings.**
- **Reporting**:

- **The position reports to the CEO of the company.**
- Responsibility for developing operating budgets, and delivery of cost effectiveness and agility.
- Managing project finance options including leasing, hire purchase and corporate finance options.
- Acting as a liaison with the CEO, Accounting Manager, and the President to understand and present financial information.
- Ensuring accuracy, integrity, and integration of all financial data and functions.

**Qualifications & Educational Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in either Accounting or Business Administration with proven work experience.
- Financial Control or Product Control experience.
- Willingness to learn the business, and work with senior management collaboratively and establish mutual priorities.
- Minimum of 3 years of full financial overview over complete business operations.
- Ability to appreciate the complexities involved in controlling & reporting multi-entity, multi-instrument transactions.
- Ability to conduct independent analysis.
- Logical & proactive approach to issue resolution, able to break down a problem into its component parts, assess the available options and identify a recommended solution.
- Must be advanced at using Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ensure superior level of accuracy and attention to detail in all areas.
- Effectively identify and prioritize tasks on a day-to-day basis.
- Ability to take initiative on challenging assignments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
- This full-time position is from Monday to Friday, with an annual salary of $85,000 - $95,000, based on level of experience, skill set, and value you can bring to the team. After successful completion of your probationary period, you will be eligible for our company Health and Wellness Spending Account.
