Position Overview:
The Analyst, Strategy & Investor Relation’s key functions will be to support the Strategy Manager in the development and execution of Finning’s long-term strategy and to support the Investor Relations Director in reporting and financial analysis. The research and analysis that you will be responsible for will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and delivering new opportunities that drive sustainable long-term value for Finning, as well as in communicating with the investment community.

**Job Description**:

- Strategic Planning:

- Support the annual strategic planning process to establish and adjust the long-term plan and value creation model
- Prepare materials and facilitation plans for strategy workshops to drive collaboration across senior leaders and the executive team
- Develop presentations to update the Finning Leadership Team and the Board on the Strategic Plan, highlighting progress, performance shift in focus or prioritization
- Complete ad hoc analysis as required to progress strategic planning efforts
- Industry and Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct industry and competitive analysis to identify trends that impact the performance and trajectory of Finning’s strategy, keeping up to date with emerging trends and best practices
- Synthesize research and analysis into insights that help Finning identify opportunities for business development and operational improvement
- Support the identification of emerging risks and associated key risk indicators
- Strategic Development:
- Support cross-functional projects that run across the global organization, providing strategic and financial analysis to guide decision making
- Collaborate with business development to identify growth opportunities aligned to the global strategic framework and develop execution strategies
- Prepare executive communication materials for strategic projects and initiatives
- Investor Relations:
- Support execution of the best-in-class IR program aligned with investor and executive expectations and in adherence with the highest disclosure standards
- Conduct analysis and produce internal IR reports and deliverables, including IR Board Reports and related material, peer activities and reporting, investor analysis and engagement tracking, trading analytics, and various research and notes as required
- Review sell-side research, maintain and update internal models of analyst estimates, and provide summaries of revisions and takeaway
- Assist with preparations of quarterly earnings releases, scripts, slides, and Q&A and support continuous improvement of IR messaging and external disclosure practices
- Support development of investor presentations, messages, and Q&A for various investor events, including conferences, roadshows, investor days and tours
- Research economic data, market and industry trends, and disclosures of customers and peers to support IR messaging and deliverable
- Update IR website, keep track on investor meetings and notes in the CMS, liaise with IR suppliers, support coordination of IR events, and provide other administrative support to the IR function
- Develop strong collaborative relationships within finance, global operations, legal, strategy, communications, sustainability and other teams to support the execution of the IR program
- Education & Experience- Post-secondary degree in a relevant business discipline
- Up to 2 years of prior experience in strategy or corporate development, financial analysis, modeling, business analysis and data-driven analysis
- MBA or similar graduate degree is considered an asset
