**Summary**

Reporting to the Manager Technical Services the Building Science specialist supports the organization’s growth and daily operations by providing a repository of up-to-date technical documents for all Alleguard’ s products as well as being the go-to resource for technical information on behalf of Amvic’s customers.

**Responsibilities**
- Serve as the technical liaison between Customers, Builders, Building Officials, and internal departments (Sales, Marketing and Production)
- Respond to technical questions from customers/consumers regarding Alleguard products.
- Develop a deep understanding of the technical aspects and code requirements for Alleguard products.
- Leverage knowledge of the Alleguard product family to produce technical guides to support sales and to support Amvic’s products in the field.
- Ensure that the Alleguard Technical Resources website contains the most up-to-date technical information on our products and services. Continually update this information as necessary.
- Recommend product modifications, improvements, changes to practices and procedures based on input from code changes, technical field issues, customer feedback, etc.
- Maintain company’s compliance with regulatory authorities and product testing agencies.
- Provide engineering and technical documentation of company’s products and services.
- Develop and maintain company products and technical manuals.
- Where needed update technical bulletins on products and distribute them to relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Attending trade shows where necessary.
- If required conduct technical presentations to Architects and Engineers regarding Amvic products.
- He/she will have worked directly in the construction of buildings or will have had a role in developing technical documents for products related to building construction. An individual who has built or renovated residential buildings either as a job or as a sideline/hobby would be preferred.
- Familiarity with the various regulatory agencies governing building materials as well as exposure to building codes would ideally round out this person’s profile.

**Requirements**:

- Post-Secondary education in Building Science or a Certified Engineering Technologist.
- Practical understanding of the building/construction industry. Experience working directly in construction, or a related trade is an asset.
- Familiarity with the technical specifications of construction materials is preferred.
- Experience in the writing of technical documents, instruction manuals and guides.
- Familiarity with the US and Canadian Building Codes.
- Well organized with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and projects.
- Comfortable communicating in both the digital and traditional mediums.
- Strong relationship building skills - must be able to forge positive and productive relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- Flexible and adaptable; will be willing to assist with or take on assignments outside of his/her defined role when required.
- Should demonstrate the potential to move progressively into senior roles as the company grows.
