Part-Time Hourly (guaranteed 32 hours per week)

Responsible to: Homeward Bound Assistant General Manager

Responsibilities: Housing Support Workers are members of the Oakdale team and work together to provide housing supports for clients in a flexible, compassionate, and responsible manner.

Qualifications:

- Experience in Human Services, supported housing, or with persons with disabilities/addictions;
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and marginalized populations;
- Valid Driver’s license;
- Reliable Vehicle;
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal);
- Basic Computer Skills;
- Must pass criminal record check and vulnerable sector check;
- Ability to work independently;
**Renumeration**:$26.62

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Review communication board and log books when coming on shift, review who is on-call staff and supervisor;
- Be available to respond to client needs and requests where reasonable in a friendly and courteous manner;
- Ensure property security alarms and cameras are on and functional;
- Assist other programs when requested, to ensure safety of staff and residents;
- Responsible for maintaining clear and concise logs of all unusual occurrences or suspicious activities;
- Respond to accidents, contact EMS or administer first aid/CPR as required;
- Be available for community members for mentorship and consultations via telephone;
- Assist community members, guests, employees during emergency situations;
- Be aware of emergency procedures in the event of the need for building evacuations;
- Notify appropriate individuals (on-call staff, Supervisor, Manager) and/or authorities in the event of accidents, incidents or other noteworthy information;
- Transport clients in accordance with established client transportation policies/protocols, ex. (emergencies);
- Maintain client confidentiality at all times;
- Debrief with shift rotation;
- Escort any unwelcome persons from the property when safe to do so
- If unable to do this safely, contact local authorities;
- Write clear and concise incident reports when necessary;
**Shift Specific Duties**:

- Open lounge at 8:00 AM- start coffee for clients;
- Ensure all office and lounge windows and doors are locked;
- Monitor security cameras as appropriate;
- Occasional checks of apartments of clients requiring heightened lifestyle monitoring;
- Complete nightly Communications Log Book/ documentation on SharePoint;
- Assist other programs as necessary;
- Ensure workspaces/recreational spaces are cleaned after use by clients;
- Conduct regular patrols of hallways, parking lots, stairwells and common spaces;
- Responsible for cleaning duties;
**Program Specific Duties**:
**Oakdale Daily**
- Complete rounds every hour and check-ins on designated clients as outlined;
- Complete any Noteworthy or Critical incident reports on Aladtec prior to signing off duty;
- Sweep and mop all hallway landings;
- Disinfect and wipe down surface areas;
- Tidy up all hallways;
- Clean offices and lounges; apartment 202 309, 310, 406;
- Ensure all office and lounge windows and doors are locked;
- Ensure area outside around entranceways is free of garbage and cigarette butts;
- Empty all garbage's and take out all to bins;
- Spot wash walls as needed;
- Disinfect all handles and railings;
- Plug in vehicles during the winter months;
- Tidy up patio as necessary;
**Probation**:All YWCA positions contain a three - month probation period.
