Our client has an urgent requirement for a **DATA MIGRATION LEAD**

The **Data Migration Lead **will articulate data and file (paper, electronic) migration strategy and plans, liaison with SaaS supplier & other project stakeholders, provide management and hands-on analysis during the activities of legacy data & record discovery, mapping, data cleansing, prep for load, migration testing, including validation of accuracy of the transformed data.


Responsibilities of the role include:

- Leads data migration team and actively delivers data and file migration services.
- Guides team on architecting, designing, building, documenting, and QA of data migration activities.
- Leverages SQL and data analysis/ETL expertise to organize and transform data migration practices, reduce manual work, and minimize re-work while in an agile development framework.
- Develops and deploys processes, best practices, methodologies, and guidelines for data migration.
- Identifies and sets up tools for data extraction and cleansing.
- Reverse engineers legacy data stores to optimize data discovery and migration activities.
- Creates an inventory of all legacy data and file assets.
- Reviews legacy data and file quality, identifying data issues and gaps, analyzing, and recommending approaches for remedying.
- Identifies all legacy data and file assets to be migrated and outlines disposition plan (e.g., archiving, destruction) for data / file assets that will not be migrated.
- Applies data modeling techniques to organize and summarize legacy data and quality analysis.
- Delivers data migration strategy and high-level plans.
- Collaborates extensively with SaaS supplier to ensure unified vision and strategy for data and file migration.
- Works with project and SaaS team to deliver detailed data migration plans for each phase / release implementations.
- Identifies and continually monitors data migration risks and mitigations.
- Supports and ensures the development of a robust data migration quality assurance / testing processes.
- Leads and ensures production of a mapping matrix for all data, including documentation of data deemed not to be migrated.
- Establishes approach for addressing any identified data quality issues.
- Ensures the right scripts for migrating and validating data quality to be migrated to the new solution are in place and tested.
- Validates migration processes and operations.
- Works with business and IT to identify data, process and / or solution modifications to support greater data quality in the new solution.
- Develops, documents, and delivers methods for business stakeholders to perform ongoing data quality assessments in the new solution.
- Develops, manages, and reports on data migration KPIs.

Prepares regular data migration status reports
