**Job Summary**
The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in ensuring that the kitchen at Union Restaurant operates smoothly by maintaining cleanliness and assisting an experienced and hardworking kitchen team of dedicated professionals.

This job supports our cooks and chefs to work efficiently and safely.

We offer on-site and virtual training, health & safety orientation and promote job growth through the company and via our partners.

**Duties**
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
- Help with inventory management by receiving deliveries and organizing food storage areas.
- Organise storage areas to company standards following the direction of our experienced kitchen team
- Support chefs and other kitchen staff during busy service periods by providing assistance wherever necessary.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping floors, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Other maintenance and cleaning duties as necessary

**Skills**
- Following direction of the lead chefs and prep cook.
- Previous experience in a busy restaurant environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Basic knowledge of food handling and preparation practices is advantageous (training and education will be provided).
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent support.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $17.50-$18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
