Wildlight is a new full-service restaurant by one of Western Canada’s largest employers. With a west coast concept and lively feel, Wildlight will celebrate the current and distinctive food culture of British Columbia’s west shore, a region with an affinity for local and seasonal produce, fresh Pacific seafood, sustainability, cultural diversity, and chef-driven culinary traditions.
We are hiring for a Server, Wildlight Kitchen + Bar at our location in Vancouver, BC near the UBC area.
**You will be responsible for**:
Warmly greeting guests in a friendly and courteous manner & explaining all specials, promotions, and food items on the menu.
Memorizing and promoting daily specials and answering any questions about menu pricing, preparation and ingredients.
Taking orders and entering into the POS, and serving guests per established service & timing standards.
Making food and beverage recommendations to guests as appropriate.
Ensuring the guest needs are met, including keeping beverages full, providing additional condiments or food items, and checking back with guests during their meals.
Presenting accurate check, collecting payment and providing change in a timely manner.
Balancing end-of-day paperwork, including cash, credit card and due backs with mínimal errors, overages, or shortages.
Supporting other areas of the restaurant as necessary.
**You have**:
Minimum one year of restaurant server experience.
Serving it Right is considered an asset.
**You are**:
A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and directly with guests.
Detail oriented with a focus on speed and accuracy.
Adaptable, open to change and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
