QA/QC Electrical Lead - Edmonton

Key Responsibilities:

- Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the QA/QC Electrical Lead will be responsible for ensuring electrical and instrumentation installations meet code and are operational.
- Conduct activities to assure that electrical and instrumentation installations are to code and are ready for operation.
- Provide and impart technical knowledge and expertise to field level supervision and trades people.
- Represent Pronghorn to the onsite client
- Ensure adherence to work safety and safe work practices.
- Provide a high level of surveillance related to quality control requirements and project installations.
- Ensure that all inspections have been completed, specifications have been met and that installations are compliant with relevant federal, provincial and client regulations.
- Provide a variety of inspection functions related to materials, equipment, construction and installations.
- Ensure that all work meets or exceeds code.
- Record and document and non-compliance issues or deviations in quality.
- Provide reports and warnings of noncompliance of materials, equipment and construction.
- Coordinate technical reviews and approvals.
- Promote and ensure compliance to all relevant safety programs and regulations.
- Perform point-to-point/megger testing/inspection of cables and terminations.
- Perform inspections and/or tests with regards to motors, junction boxes, cable trays, Electrical Heat Trace (EHT), grounding, instruments, and any other electrical equipment.
- Relay any field issues or concerns to the appropriate supervision
- Progressively sign-off all appropriate QA/QC check sheets for turnover packages.
- Update CMT trackers as inspections and testing is completed.
- Ensure Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and Client/Manufacturer’s Specs are maintained in the field construction process.
- Complete progressive walk downs with the CMT QA personnel.
- Relay any redlines found in field to the appropriate supervision for proper documenting and communication to others.
- Fix minor deficiencies found in the field during the inspection process.
- Complete all corporate paperwork required throughout the shift, including hazard identification, harness/lift/truck inspections, behavioural observations, etc.

**Qualifications**
- Journeyman Electrician.
- 3 years of experience of conducting QC activities
- Good understanding of applicable industry standards and specifications, and the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Intermediate demonstrable skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
