Camp Tamakwa in Algonquin park has an opening for a Vegetarian/special Diets cook for the upcoming 2025 summer season.
Notice, This is a live on site position in Algonquin park.
The Vegetarian/ special diets cook is responsible for preparing appropriate food items for our campers that have food allergies and sensitivities as well as the vegetarian option for a camp of 250 campers and approximately 100 staff. The Special Diets cook will stay on after the summer camp season as we have Banquet season that runs until early October. We host Weddings, corporate Groups, and school groups through the fall. The position switches to more of a banquet chef position while still taking care of our guest with their special dietary requirements
This position requires a keen attention to detail and cooking experience is required. Good knife skills as well as good people skills. The Special diets chef will serve the kids with dietary requirements directly at all meal periods.
The Special diets cook will assist the campers and staff with their individual needs to make sure their meals are prepared in accordance with their specific needs.
The contract will run June 15- early October.
All camp facilities are available to staff on their off hours. Such as windsurfing. Paddle boards, kayaks, archery, recording studio, roller hockey basketball, half court tennis, Swimming and great fishing Camp Tamakwa is a wonderful place to spend the summer in Algonquin Park to enjoy all the park has to offer and work in a fun inclusive environment.
