**About the role**
- Responsible for overseeing assigned technical aspects of the design scope, deliverables, requirements, issues, and actions;
- Coordinating and Leading LM Platform’s participation in zonal design reviews, compartment approvals, and production support activities;
- Establish regular communication with sub-IPT counterparts and stakeholders (internal and external to Platform) to resolve issues and progress actions;
- Attend Irving Shipbuilding Inc (ISI), Warship Designer (BAE), and internal Lockheed Martin Canada meetings as required;
- Show leadership for driving closure plan for sub-IPT technical issues;
- Develop an understanding of the overall program goals and priorities;
- Provide Systems Engineering support to the Platform requirements review/analysis, trade studies, verification, and compliance activities;
- Participate in the development of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and cost and schedule impact assessments.
- Special assignments as required to support the success of the Platform Delivery Team.
- Maintenance of a high standard of professional excellence.

**What you bring to the role**
- Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or other engineering degree with relevant experience
- 3-5 years of experience in a naval engineering role or naval shipbuilding program.
- Experience reviewing detail design drawings and 3-D Models
- Experience in Ship Platform or Combat systems design and integration
- Demonstrated capability to perform well in difficult or ambiguous situations
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Aptitude for providing technical guidance and solving challenging problems
- Works well individually or in a team environment
- Ability to acquire North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secret Security clearance.
- Strong experience with Classification Society rules/regulations.

**Additional skills desired for the role**
- Familiarity with CSC or other GCS
- Experience in a shipyard environment
- Experience with Royal Canadian Navy Customer
- Technical subcontractor management/oversight
- Ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands
- Experience with Data and Configuration Management
- Knowledge in Systems Engineering
- Experience with FORAN, Ship Constructor, or other marine industry 3D Modeling Tools
- Experience with CREO View, Navisworks, or other marine industry visualization tools
- Knowledge in requirements management using DOORs (IBM Rational)
- Experience with Microsoft Common Office Tools
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
