Join the Region of Peel’s **Government Relations & Strategic Initiatives (GRSI)** team as a **Specialist, Strategic Initiatives** — and help shape the policies and partnerships that drive our region forward.

**About the Role**:
As a key member of the Office of the CAO, you’ll support the Regional Chair, Council, CAO, and Executive Leadership Team in strengthening government and stakeholder relations, informing policy decisions, and advancing corporate priorities. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-impact projects, provide strategic insight, and champion collaboration across departments and with external partners.

**What You’ll Be Doing**:

- Supporting key decision-makers through strategic planning, issue tracking, and briefings.
- Analyzing political and policy trends to provide expert insight and recommendations.
- Conducting research and preparing reports, briefing notes, presentations, and council materials.
- Collaborating across departments and with external stakeholders to align on corporate initiatives.
- Supporting projects that drive innovation, inclusivity, and better service delivery.
- Monitoring emerging municipal, provincial, and federal issues to inform proactive strategies.

**What You Bring to the Table**:

- A degree in public policy, political science, public administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in municipal government or a similar public sector environment
- Strong policy analysis, research, and strategic writing skills.
- High political acuity and comfort navigating complex, fast-moving environments.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and engaging diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of project and change management methodologies
- A collaborative mindset, strong judgment, and a drive to make a difference.
