**Job Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Provide personal care assistance to participants, including bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Assist participants with daily living activities and promote their independence.
- Monitor and document participants' health and well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate supervisor or healthcare professional.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with participants and their families.
- Supervise other care staff when necessary, ensuring that all services meet quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for participant, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Foster positive relationships with participants, encouraging social interaction and participation in community activities.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on best practices in community care.

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in a caregiving or community support role is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of basic health care practices is an asset.
- Must be able to provide an up to date clear vulnerable sectors check and criminal record check.

This is a casual position within the organization. Casuals are required to be available for last minute shifts (Sick calls, vacations, holidays, Participant appointments etc) and available to fill in as needed. Casuals are required to provide a minimun of 6 days of availability per month. Casuals must be able to work at all locations in HRM.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $16.49-$17.49 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 48 per week

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
