Community Living Centres is seeking experienced staff to support individuals with disabilities living in their own homes in Halifax, Dartmouth & Sackville. Our mission is that each resident live full and fulfilling lives as they envision them, supported by engaged and knowledgable staff that do both with and for them as needed to reach their goals.

**Job Description**:
Community Living Centres is hiring experienced staff to support our residents in their homes around HRM. This entails visiting residents one on one. Visit lengths vary depending on the needs and schedules of the individual. Some individuals are visited once a week, while others are daily.

Responsibilities at each visit can include:

- Meal preparation
- Menu planning
- Grocery shopping
- Housekeeping
- Personal care assistance
- Budgeting
- Travel by public transportation
- Clothing maintenance and shopping
- Appointment attendance
- Work and volunteer readiness
- Community Activities (Gym, Library, etc.)

Experience and knowledge of tenancy is also an asset including:

- Ensuring that bills are identified and managed.
- Appropriate communication with superintendents and neighbours.
- Decluttering, and accessing storage.

Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years experience in the disability sector
- Up to date first aid & CPR
- Recent criminal records check with vulnerable sectors search
- Up to date training in food safety
- Proof of full covid-19 vaccination

Assets
- knowledge and experience with psychiatric illness
- knowledge and experience with developmental disabilities
- having your own vehicle with two million dollar liability insurance
- having completed the provincial core-competencies as outlined by the Department of Community Services for providers under the Disability Support Program.
- being personable, flexible, reliable, energetic, empathetic and enthusiastic.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Full-Time

Wages: $17.00-$20.94 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff must be fully vaccinated against covid-19.

Part-time hours: can be highly variable from one visit a week to multiple visits daily.

Full time-hours: 34+ hours a week, highly variable schedules based on the needs of the invidiuals. Some staff may also seek to work in our Small Option Homes for extra opportunties within the organization.
