We’re looking for enthusiastic and creative people, so if you’re interested in music, cooking, sports, arts & crafts, or anything you think our clients could be interested in, you can design and deliver a program on that topic, and share your passion Our clients are adults with disabilities, aged 19+. If this sounds like it may be a fit for you, then please continue to read the duties and responsibilities below; **Key Duties & Responsibilities**: 1. Designs, prepares and facilitates group activities, including life-skills, recreational and social activities designed to meet the needs of the client. Activities include, (but are not limited to), arts & crafts, cooking, sports, music, and community outings, (e.g. Stanley Park, the beach, the PNE) 2. Adapts and modifies established activities to meet the unique needs of the Client. Promote Client's participation in activities and provide feedback regarding the performance and progress of the client. 3. Observe Clients and their environment, report unsafe conditions and behaviors, physical and/or cognitive changes, to the Supervisor. 4. May be required to support Client on a one-to-one basis on occasions. 5. Assist Client with their activities of Daily Living as required, such as tube feeding, lifts/transfers, grooming, toileting. 6. Complete and maintain regular case notes, and documentation such as annual individualized support plans, risk assessments, and documenting in a client's "Day Program Journal". 7. Perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping, mopping floors, vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, laundry (as needed). 8. Answer general inquiries (as appropriate) and provide direction and routine information about programs and policies. 9. Attend Day Program Staff Meetings and participate in Care Planning and other meetings as required. 10. Perform other related duties as assigned, directed or requested by the Supervisor. **Qualifications**: - Minimum grade 12 or equivalent. - Completion of a recognized Recreational/Activity Degree or other certification desired. - Two years recent related experience, including one-year experience in programming with clients with cognitive limitations or physical disabilities also desired. Will consider other relevant experience, (such as child and youth workers, community worker, social worker, etc). - Must Possess (or be willing to get prior to start date) Standard First Aid or Emergency First Aid and CPR Level A. - Must be mentally and physically able to carry out the duties of the position. - Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. - Must be able to deal with others effectively and organize workflow, whilst demonstrating flexibility. - Must be able to operate related equipment. - Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. **SCHEDULE**: - Monday-Friday; 8:30am-4:00pm OR 9:00am-4:30pm (depending on site and availability) **NOTES**:Casuals receive an additional 10% in lieu of vacation and stats.
