Graham Capital develops public infrastructure including hospitals, schools, roads and public water and waste-water systems, and light rail transit. Graham Capital sources investment capital and provides financial advisory services. We provide complete life-cycle asset management, including long-term operations and maintenance on public and commercial facilities. We take a long-term view, because we know the owners we work with expect their facilities to run smoothly and last for 30 years or longer.
**About the role**
Reporting to the Managing Director, Corporate Development & Strategy, the Strategic Research Analyst (“Analyst”) is responsible for supporting corporate development and strategy through analytical research of markets, including macro trends and competitor analysis. The Analyst will produce high quality reports to support leadership in the strategic decision-making process. The Analyst will be responsible for performing complex analysis of data, synthesizing the data for presentation to other members of the Corporate Development team. The Analyst may additionally support all Graham divisions and Business Units with research that will be used to inform each business unit’s specific strategy.
This role is opne to applicants will to work out of Either our Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton or VAncouver Office.
**As Strategic Research Analyst at Graham Capital you will**:
- Produce high-quality presentations and white papers (both PowerPoint and Word)
- Perform analysis of partners and competitors.
- Update weekly and monthly reports used by business units across the Company
- Synthesize data to identify trends and communicate to the corporate development team in furtherance of the group’s strategic mandate
- Planning and Process
- Support the Corporate Development & Strategy Team in resource planning and effective timeline management
- Prioritize appropriately to meet deadlines
- Strategic Research Accountabilities
- Use internal and third-party resources to prepare reports for all Graham divisions and business units on research mandates
- Perform macro and micro analysis of specific markets and geographies that will be used to inform corporate strategy
- Perform analysis on peers, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
- Maintain and update quarterly and annual presentations to stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders.
**Qualifications/Experience**
- A degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or a Bachelor of Science in Statistics is preferred.
- Highly analytical mindset is required.
- Experience of conducting both data-driven and qualitative research mandates is required.
- Exposure to construction, project finance or M&A is an asset.
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills is a requisite.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience reviewing financial statements is an asset.
- Understanding of financial statements is an asset.
- Knowledge of and experience with MS Office Suite is required.
