The Retail Research Analyst will support the Eastern Canada Retail Advisory Team based in Toronto by acquiring and presenting data and materials from municipalities, landlords and other sources to effectively support the real estate decisions of our clients and business partners.

The Research Analyst will track and analyze the Eastern Canadian retail real estate market with a focus on retail locations, housing and development growth trends, market presentation, strategic business development support and research content creation. You will serve as an active member of a brokerage team to contribute to retailer expansion strategies, support deal execution and strategic business development efforts. You will work closely with fellow research analysts and brokerage coordinators, brokerage professionals and clients.

Work with research and other brokerage team members to compile market information and statistics on the local commercial real estate market; conduct research and collect information materials on individual properties, ownership, tenants, market fundamentals and economic analysis
Create, review, and/or prepare materials required for presentation of real estate site opportunities to clients including market surveys, tour books, individual site opportunity and real estate committee packages for presentation to clients
Liaise with our retail team’s Demographer for coordination of demographic materials for incorporation into presentations
Conduct research at a designated level to support client site opportunity presentations, pitch materials, publications, reports and deliverables to the Local Practice Leader and applicable brokerage team; assist brokerage professionals through the completion of market surveys, data analysis, production of aerial maps and other deliverables

**Contribute to designated local market research requests**: market snapshots, market overviews, quarterly market decks, topic specific research to support pitches and brokerage opportunities
Liaise regularly with other real estate professionals including developers, landlords, appraisers and brokers
Coordinate and manage daily, weekly and quarterly retail real estate research tasks

**Contribute to special initiatives, such as**: annual/semi-annual publications, whitepapers, and other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor’s degree required
Previous experience in commercial real estate would be an asset, but not mandatory
Demonstrated passion in real estate with a strong commitment to learning micro
- and macro-level market dynamics
Excellent MS Office skills and experience with Adobe Creative
GIS experience a bonus (MapIT, ArcGIS, etc.)
Collaborative attitude and willingness to both work independently and as part of a dynamic team
Strong report drafting skills with an ability to ‘tell the story.’
Ability to multitask, be resilient and effectively manage time and workload
Effective written and oral communication skills
A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment
Valid driver license and access to a personal vehicle
