**Internal Communications Specialist**

**Title: Internal Communication Specialist**

**Reports To: Director of Global Communications and Digital Channels**

**Location: Burlington**

The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for creating and implementing internal communications content and contributing to programs that actively engage internal audiences across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Digital Channels, the Internal Communications Specialist translates business strategies into key messages, develops appropriate internal communications initiatives in support of those strategies, and executes programs that create excitement, drive engagement, align teams and shape culture.

**Job Duties**
- Develop and implement internal communications plans and projects. Help create a best-in-class internal communications function across the company that fuels employee engagement, influences connectivity and culture, and positively impacts all departments. Messaging and supporting materials must be high quality, accurate, appropriate, and integrated with the company’s priorities and themes.
- Provide internal communication expertise and advice to communications colleagues, managers and program areas.
- Research, write and edit interviews, articles and other communication products. Assist in writing and editing impactful and engaging content that effectively describes and promotes recruitment, professional development, corporate announcements, town hall gatherings, human resources and other programs and initiatives in support of corporate goals and culture.
- Manage content for the global company intranet, ensuring that it is up-to-date, engaging and informative.
- Use internal tools as appropriate to maximize the company’s internal communication effectiveness and ensure consistent messaging, branding, imagery, identity and tone of voice.
- Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of internal employee events as needed and appropriate.
- Implement metrics reports to measure effectiveness of internal communication channels, with the goal of continuously improving internal communications strategy to reach and engage employees.
- Become the MailChimp ‘super user’ for the Communications team. Provide support to teams in writing and distributing messages.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelr’s degree in journalism, communications or a related field.
- Demonstrated previous experience in writing and editing.
- Possesses outstanding oral and written communications skills including superior writing, grammar, editing and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrated ability to think analytically and develop solutions that meet business needs.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently deliver high-quality results on time and on budget.
- Highly motivated, persuasive, priority-driven and collaborative.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups.
- Consistently demonstrates strong business acumen and judgment. Respects and adheres to the importance of confidentiality in the workplace.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Willingness to build relationships and collaborate across the broader Human Resource, Finance and Information Technology teams.
- Strong team player with the ability to work effectively with partners and staff at all levels.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
