On November 30, 2024, 9-8-8 was launched in Canada as a new national three-digit number for suicide prevention and emotional distress. In 2022, CAMH was announced as the lead for the coordination and administration of 9-8-8, and has acted in this capacity to lead and coordinate the implementation of 9-8-8 and manage the operations and post-launch activities. This ground-breaking new service is available 24/7/365 and accessible to everyone from coast to coast to coast. CAMH is working closely with the federal government and key partners from different groups and communities, provinces, territories and building on our work on Talk Suicide Canada, to deliver this high quality, evidence-based, equitable suicide prevention service to Canada.

The service is delivered by a strong network of partners, consisting of local, regional, provincial, and national organizations that have been delivering suicide prevention and emotional distress services in their communities for years. There are 40 network partners, with potential for new partners participating in the service in the future.

9-8-8 is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager (18-month contract) to join our team in transforming the way people in Canada access support for suicide prevention and emotional distress. Reporting to the Director, and working closely with the enterprise project management office (EPMO), the Manager will provide support to the ongoing engagement with the 9-8-8 network. Communication will be bi-directional, with the Manager leading the intake of feedback and input to the 9-8-8 service, as well as disseminating information to the 9-8-8 network.
- Key Accountabilities_
- Stakeholder Management:

- Maintain relationships with 988 network partners
- Coordinate and oversee regular communications with network partners to ensure timely exchange of information and ideas
- Represent 988 in 1:1 and group meetings with network partners
- Understand the needs and priorities of the 988 network
- Government Relations:

- Support government relations with provinces and territories, including maintenance of agreements with provincial services
- Support responses to governmental requests
- Participate in meetings with provincial/territorial governments to provide updates on 988 service delivery within their respective jurisdiction
- Project Support and Quality Improvement Initiatives
- Acting as a change agent, communicating and meeting with the network to implement necessary adaptations to the service
- Play a leadership role in the execution of 9-8-8 network governance structures (e.g. 988 Advisory Council, various sub-working groups)
- Work together with the EPMO to support the onboarding of new network partners
- Together with the Education team, support the development of new training and policies/procedures for the 988 network based on network needs
- Understand network partners data and reporting needs and communicate these to respective teams at CAMH
- Support the dissemination of 988 data and supporting stakeholders in understanding the data
- Duties may be assigned or adjusted as necessary

**Job Requirements**
- Previous management and project management experience
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder relationship skills, and experience
- Ability to engage feedback and incorporate into intricate strategic intiatives and decisions
- Familiarity with the mental health or suicide prevention sector across Canada
- Strong communication skills, and the ability to facilitate complex conversations
- Experience managing staff is required and management in a unionized environment is an asset
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives
- Proven analytical, organizational, conceptual, and decision making skills in a dynamic fast paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines
- Well-honed time management skills with the ability to efficiently multi-task and produce high-quality, accurate work while meeting deadlines, maintaining flexibility to changing priorities and remaining solution-focused
- Demonstrated experience working on national projects is an asset
- Highly detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and good judgment and effectively work independently while supporting a fast-paced, high-functioning work environment and monitoring personal and team-level deliverables.
- Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language are an asset.
