Summerhill Market is looking for a **Floral Clerk / Cashier**to join the Floral Department team at our **Rosedale** location.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
Floral Clerks/Cashiers are responsible for ensuring that the Floral department is beautifully merchandised, fully stocked, and that products are easily accessible for our customers. This role combines the creative responsibilities of floral design and merchandising with providing excellent customer service at the cash register.
- Assisting in receiving, storing, and stocking floral products while ensuring proper product rotation and quality
- Supporting with creating and building floral displays, ensuring proper facing of products
- Designing gift baskets/arrangements and custom floral creations for seasonal and special occasions
- Assisting customers in locating products and placing special orders
- Operating the cash register, processing sales transactions, and handling various payment methods with accuracy
- Maintaining a clean and organized Floral department and checkout area
- Ensuring proper pricing, signage, and adherence to loss prevention policies
- Providing friendly, efficient service to customers at checkout and on the sales floor
- Being a team player and assisting team members across the store as needed
- Upholding all company policies, procedures, and health & safety practices

**Skillset Requirements**:

- Passion for floral - a true creative at heart with an appreciation for nature
- Dedication to delivering an exceptional customer experience at all times
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with patience and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
- Previous floral, cashier, grocery, or retail experience is an asset
- Quality-driven with strong attention to detail and accuracy (especially at checkout)
- Ability to multitask between floral duties and cashier responsibilities
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a solutions-focused approach
- Able to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and cover shifts on short notice
- Creative, organized, and detail-oriented
- Tech savvy with the ability to learn our ERP and inventory systems, as well as POS/cash register functions
