Summerhill Market is looking for a **Floral Clerk** to join the Floral Department team at our **Rosedale** location.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
Floral Clerks play a vital role in keeping our Floral Department beautiful, well-stocked, and welcoming for our customers. This is a _hands-on, physically demanding_ role that requires strength, stamina, and a love for working with both people and plants.

Key responsibilities include:

- **Heavy lifting and physical work**: Unloading and receiving shipments of flowers, plants, soil, and display materials; lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs regularly throughout your shift.
- **Outdoor work in the elements**: Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions—sun, rain, or snow—as needed to merchandise plants, set up displays, and water/maintain the outdoor garden section.
- **Plant care & merchandising**: Watering, pruning, and maintaining the health and presentation of all plants, both indoor and outdoor.
- **Stocking & product rotation**: Receiving, storing, stocking, and rotating floral inventory to ensure freshness and quality.
- **Display building & aesthetics**: Creating appealing displays, building custom gift baskets and floral arrangements, and ensuring products are attractively presented and accessible.
- **Customer service**: Providing friendly, knowledgeable support to customers—including taking custom orders for flower arrangements and gift baskets for special occasions.
- **Teamwork & store support**: Jumping in to assist other departments when needed, keeping the store tidy, and contributing to a positive team environment.
- **Adhering to policies**: Following all store protocols related to signage, pricing, inventory control, and health & safety.

**Skillset Requirements**:

- **Physically fit and energetic**: Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and capable of lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling throughout your shift.
- **Outdoor readiness**: Not afraid of getting your hands dirty and working outside in changing weather conditions.
- **Floral passion**: A genuine love for flowers, plants, and nature—you’re someone who enjoys creating beautiful things
- **Customer-first mindset**: Friendly, patient, and always ready to offer a helping hand to our customers.
- **Experience is an asset**: Prior experience in a floral, grocery, or retail setting is helpful but not required.
- **Detail-oriented & creative**: You notice the little things and take pride in creating attractive displays and arrangements.
- **Flexible & reliable**: Able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and cover shifts on short notice when needed.
- **Tech-comfortable**: Able to learn our in-house inventory and ordering systems.
- **Strong communicator**: Clear, professional, and confident in both written and spoken communication.
- **Team player**: Collaborative and supportive—someone who brings positivity to every shift.
- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
