South Kitchener Dentistry is a well-established and reputable dental clinic dedicated to providing high-quality dental care to our valued patients. We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. **Responsibilities**:

- Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including routine cleanings, fillings, extractions, and crown placements
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient visits, ensuring all instruments and supplies are sterilized and readily available
- Take dental x-rays and dental scans
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, anticipating the dentist's needs and ensuring patient comfort
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment charts, medical histories, and X-ray documentation
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, post-operative care instructions, and preventive dental practices
- Perform basic laboratory duties, such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
- Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols in accordance with the dental clinic's policies and procedures

**Requirements**:

- Completion of a recognized Dental Assisting program
- Certification and registration as a Dental Assistant in Ontario
- Excellent knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and sterilization techniques
- Proficient in taking dental X-rays and operating dental equipment
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to patient care
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions effectively
- Must be HARP certified

Preferred Qualifications:

- Familiarity with dental software and computer skills
- Experience preferred, but new grads welcome to apply
