Communications & Marketing Specialist

**The role**
JFE Shoji Power Canada Inc. is seeking a Communications & Marketing Specialist to join our growing team The incumbent in this position is responsible for crafting and executing JFE Shoji Powers marketing messaging for social media, campaigns, products, and services. Working collaboratively with various stakeholders across the business, this role is responsible for designing and creating engaging content for our various internal and external facing platforms including maintaining the company website, JFE’s communication hub, generating buzz worthy press releases, crafting captivating social media content, and other interactive marketing materials.
**& the Duties**
- Will ignite our JFE brand voice in the clean energy technology space to polish our messaging so it stands out; increases our visibility and engages audiences across various and multiple communication channels; and drives traffic and potential employees and clients to our website and social media pages.
- Will be responsible for generating buzz-worthy press releases, pitching stories to media outlets and networks, and creating opportunities to ensure our brand stands in the spotlight as we continue to grow through various forms of digital and print content.
- Will work independently and with external vendors when needed to create visually stunning marketing materials for various platforms (print, media, web, social platforms, etc.)
- Will develop and maintain day-to-day social media content and calendar (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter and company communication hub, Blink) by crafting content that turns heads, sparks conversations, and generates traffic to our various platforms.
- Will work with executive leadership to craft and implement a company wide communication and marketing plan, including content and messaging strategies, internal communications, internal and external events and engagement activities.
- Partnering with internal communications lead and external vendors when needed, this role will find compelling ways to establish JFE’s employer brand, demonstrating why the organization is worth exploring, supporting as a community partner, and ultimately working for (ie. Various Media outlets - radio, television, print media, social platforms, etc).
- Will monitor, report, and build on usage and engagement on various platforms including but not limited to: SEO & SEM, Blink user engagement, social media/google analytics, etc.
- Will create, maintain, and manage digital media and corporate image library including managing external vendors such as photographers, videographers or external marketing or media agencies when needed.
- Will follow online marketing trends and new social media sites and platforms and make recommendations.
- Will research and develop content to further support JFE’s ongoing and growing initiatives.

**& the skills, knowledge & abilities required**
- University or College Degree in Communications, Marketing and/or Journalism or a related field
- At least 3 years of communications, marketing, or journalism experience
- Solid understanding of a range of marketing strategies, techniques, and technologies.
- Skill in developing and carrying out strategic internal communication plans, including aligning goals across complex and growing organizations.
- Must be exceptionally technically savvy, and strong in graphic design.
- Exceptional design, copywriting and editing skills with strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
- Entrepreneurial, collaborative, hands on style with an eye towards action and improvement
- Must be self motivated and able to work independently with mínimal direction while taking initiative.
- Highly organized, with exceptional time management skills
- Outstanding ability to build trust across an organization, developing relationships with people no matter their department, focus or level.
- Ability to create and edit audio and video content will be considered an asset. Will be used to produce short company videos, vignettes, or podcasts.
- Must be able to share a portfolio of past work to demonstrate strengths and capability in building captivating content and engaging audiences on large scale platforms (social media, web, media outreach, etc.)
