The Cloud Operations Specialist will manage the operational and administrative components of the Google Cloud Platform along with a variety of cloud technologies at Cogeco. This role is focused on supporting and optimizing existing and future cloud deployments to enable continuous improvement of our business operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with various internal teams to deliver on projects and operations support.-
- Provide 1st and 2nd level support to all our Business Units for the Google Cloud Platform managed within the Corporate IT team.-
- Responsible for providing your expertise with the deployment of new technology.- Work alongside the other GCP specialists to establish and drive the roadmap for scaling and supporting growth.- Responsible for analyzing complex issues that may bridge multiple teams and departments and influencing others for resolution, as well as process and procedural improvements.- Interfacing and taking the lead with technical teams: Desktop, Service Desk, Security etc. to develop solutions and resolve end user issues.- Develop and lead training for end users as well as other technical support teams on how to leverage our standardized technology to its fullest potential.- Develop enterprise tooling and technology related documentation to facilitate implementation for adoption of system changes.- Maintain strong working knowledge of the cloud services, and all required tools and products.- Perform setup, configuration and ongoing monitoring of enterprise tooling environment.- Develop tools and improve processes to make it easier for developers to deploy code and work with cloud resources.- Architect and implement cloud components in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).- Assist in strategic direction and planning for the growth of the Cloud Center of Excellence team.
ACADEMIC TRAINING:
- B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 3 to 4+ years experience engaging with IT professionals and articulating business requirements into business processes, guidelines and solutions.- 3 - 4+ years of hands-on experience with building, deploying and monitoring services on public cloud, preferably Google Cloud, Platform, but also AWS or Azure.- 3 - 4+ years experience in cloud systems implementation, management and support.- Administering and supporting a cloud DaaS solution.- Proficiency of cloud technologies and cloud enablement.- Securing cloud solutions through security best practices, policies and procedures.
SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of the following are assets:
- IaC practice (infrastructure as code.-
- DevOps concepts (Gitflow, CI/CD).-
- Containerization platforms (Kubernetes/Docker.)-
- Linux (command line tools, performance tuning, etc.-
- Scripting language(ex:.)-
- Bash/Ansible/Terraform/Powershell, etc.) as well as process automation.-
- Keycloak, Apigee, & SonarQube.- Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills.- Experience working with Google Workspace.- Strong problem solving skills. You must be passionate about your. ability to always find solutions to customers’ needs.- Operate in an environment that is fast paced and handle ambiguity- Bilingual an asset - French & English.
