You will be an integral member of our Management Team. To be successful in this role, you will need to be a “hands-on” and a trusted colleague with a positive “can do” attitude. While the focus is on Finance and reporting, we are looking for an individual who is willing and capable of working to improve and grow our business.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Monthly closings and reporting to the foreign parent, including journal entries, account reconciliations, job costing, inventory, consolidation, and financial analysis
- Monitor and present actual performance against plan and variance analysis
- Implement control procedures and reporting systems for inventory control (i.e. physical inventory, reconciliation of record & physical stocks, accounting adjustments)
- Preparing and issue/present bank covenant reports, operating KPI’s and ad-hoc financial and non-financial reports
- Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts as required
- Co-ordinate year-end audit, including the preparation of audit schedules, annual physical inventory
- Prepare, maintain, and enforce internal controls
- Decrease cost through increased efficiencies and reduction of unnecessary process/policy
- Develop, evaluate, implement, and support strategic plans for company growth and profitability
- Advise management on financial trends and desirable operational adjustments, which may be necessary, based on these trends
- Other duties as assigned

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS**:

- Accounting Designation (CPA), or equivalent in education and experience required
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to Job Cost Accounting, Finance and General Accounting strongly preferred
- A minimum of 2 years successful financial/accounting team leadership in a similar work environment required
- Work experience with Quickbooks and ERP Manufacturing Systems required
- Strong Excel skills required
- Strong organizational and time management skills, providing support with a sense of urgency
- Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP, ASPE and IFRS reporting required
- Customer focused, self-motivated, with strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail and analytical skills required
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers
- Strong leadership skills, staff development, growth, and mentoring
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and solutions
