**About the Controller role**:
The Financial Controller is responsible for full-cycle accounting, planning, organizing, implementing and managing the overall financial reporting efforts of the organization, including;
- Managing payments to vendors and payments from our franchisees
- Assisting Franchise Partners and their bookkeepers with basic questions regarding POS and Quickbooks
- Working closely with the procurement team on inventory management
- Maintaining and monitoring tax compliance, tax filing, tax planning and reporting
- Submitting Payroll for the Home Office Team of 20
- Annual year end audit process, including the preparation/review of working papers;
- Preparing financial forecasts to reflect current projections to plan;
- Preparing of Cash Flow analysis
- Improving and implementing financial policies, systems and processes when required
- Assisting the leadership team in making decisions through world-class reporting and financial discipline
- Coordinating the budgeting process and managing and controlling expenses
**Qualifications**
- CPA or equivalent
- Proficient in QBDT and QBO
- 5+ years of experience leading a financial team, ideally in a growth minded company
- Ability to switch gears and manage multiple finance or operations projects while delivering results on schedule
- Excellent judgment and proven problem-solving skills
- Experience with Franchise operation, while not required, is an asset
- Experience in organizations operating in multiple jurisdictions is an asset
- Desire and ability to take full ownership of projects and produce high quality work
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills
- Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
- Strong research and planning skills are required to provide support and guidance to the management team
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with a “hands-on” approach to managing the accounting function
- Knowledge of federal and provincial financial and taxation regulations
- Extensive knowledge of Canadian accounting legislation and guidelines
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
**About this opportunity with BioPed Footcare**:
This is a full-time permanent position working daily, typically from Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm on-site in our Oakville office, with the occasional opportunity to work from home.
