Health & Safety and Quality-control Coordinator

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Safety & Quality-Control Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, implementing safety programs, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. Quality control duties as required in
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations
- Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop strategies for prevention
- Coordinate safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing training sessions
- Collaborate with department managers to develop job-specific safety protocols and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training activities
- Filing of all H&S documentation and other filing as required
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and changes in safety regulations
**Job Requirements**:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Safety Coordinator or Safety Specialist
- Safety certificates would be beneficial
- Strong knowledge of OH&S regulations and other relevant safety standards
- Experience conducting safety inspections and accident investigations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities in all aspects of safety training and reporting
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
- Knowledge of lumber industry materials
- Position requires indoor and outdoor tasks, in all weather conditions
