Industrial Cleaner

We are currently seeking an **Industrial Cleaner** to join the Maintenance team in our **Richmond Hill **location for the **evening shift**. The cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitization of the manufacturing facility (plant and grounds) by performing various cleaning duties.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Maintain good house keeping.
- Plan daily cleaning, taking advantage of machine and production schedule. Coordinate job with Production personnel.
- Maintain plant floor in a safe and clean state and eliminate slipping hazards immediately.
- Schedule work around production breaks as to minimize interference with production traffic.
- Report and correct unsafe conditions immediately.
- Report oil leaks, chemical leaks, and any other potential problems to Maintenance Supervisor
- Responsible for proper handling, storage and disposal of all chemicals, used materials and equipment.
- Ensure safe use of forklift and equipment at all times while cleaning, removing waste, etc.
- Ensure external maintenance of the yard; ensure walkways are salted, debris is removed and cigarette disposal receptacles are emptied.
- Manage all cleaning supplies and maintain adequate inventory at all times.
- Must be able to communicate with team members and management.
- Must work in Compliance with Company Health & Safety Standards, Polices & procedures and to comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations.
- Demonstrate strong safety awareness by wearing personal protective equipment at all times, performing duties in a safe manner and continually maintaining a clean and safe work area.

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12 education or equivalent years work experience.
- Must be available every other weekend for 1 overtime shift, scheduled in advance.
- Previous experience in the cleaning/janitorial industry required.
- Experience with cleaning/janitorial in an industrial/manufacturing facility considered an asset.
- Experience with automatic floor scrubbers and other janitorial equipment is an asset.
- Ability to plan own daily activities in a timely and efficient manner.
- Good understanding of plant systems and production setup.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently, and effectively while maintaining high attention to detail and quality.
- Quick learner with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Must be available to work the night shift and every other Saturday.
