Quality Control Manager

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for leading projects from inception to completion working collaboratively with Estimating, Project Coordination, Site Supervision, Clients and Trade partners. The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring quality work, client satisfaction, overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with Urban One’s Quality Management Program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental protection. Comply with and effectively implement Urban One’s Safety Program to ensure safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded
- Provide technical expertise, training, and tools to promote continuous improvement to Urban One’s Quality Management Program
- Implement and monitor the approved Quality Management Plan for the project
- Review methods to reduce waste and increase efficiency
- Define and implement quality control procedures with field staff
- Coordinate all Quality Assurance/Control activities with site management
- Provide weekly Quality Control Reports that reinforce activities are being constructed in conformance with the project’s specifications and established standards
- Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements
- Constructively confront non-conformance issues to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner
- Review project submittals for conformance with the project specifications
- Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal and are handled and stored appropriately for use in the project
- Control and distribute all company quality documentation
- Perform and/or participate in all internal and external site audits on behalf of Urban One
- Verify trade contractors and supplier quality requirements are specified to vendors documentation submittals
- Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project’s quality management plan; recommend and implement improvements when required
- Coordinate and document the testing and commissioning of the building systems
- Chair and document weekly Quality Control Meetings with the site management team and trade contractors QC personnel
- Coordinate all quality related correspondence and documentation with the Owner’s Representative(s)
- Perform and/or coordinate quality control testing and inspections in accordance with the contract documents and the company best practices

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, or Construction Management
- 7+ years related work experience or a combination of relevant education and experience
- Background as QA/QC on large scope projects
- Experience on Multi-Family Residential High-rise and Low-rise Buildings, Mixed-use, Institutional and Commercial Projects
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong technical understanding of construction methods and planning
- Strong technical writing and report preparation skills
- ERP Systems - Construction Management Software (i.e., Viewpoint CS, Procore, etc.)
- Microsoft Project or Primavera
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven track record of team collaboration
