Additional info: Free parking, close to bus and subway, discounted meals, good tips. **Compensation**: $15 - $16 hourly **Responsibilities**: - Collect correct payment from guests and ensure that the guest check and method of payment are accurate to safeguard both the client and the business from mistakes in transactions - Establish a full knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and daily specials to respond to client inquiries and make recommendations - Welcome customers upon arrival and promptly seat them, take food and beverage orders from diners, serve meals, and meet any special requirements or requests - Attend all pre-shift and departmental meetings to improve communications and develop an understanding of products, services, and facilities - Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work as instructed **Qualifications**: - Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers - Prior food service industry experience is highly desired - Proven customer service experience with a strong guest-focused mentality - Displays impeccable time management and organizational skills **About Company** On April 27, 1957, Moe Pancer and his son Stan, at 22 years of age, opened the doors of a new deli called Moe Pancer's Delicatessen. Stan's wife Evelyn, who also was a part of the opening, happened to give birth to their first son Michael on that same day. Pancer's became a regular meeting place for large companies, movie stars, hockey players and rock bands like Rush. Comedian John Candy had said it became a "family home away from home".
