**The Opportunity**

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Event Marketing Specialist will manage all trade shows and events for the organization. The role involves project management, onsite execution, sourcing internal and external vendors/suppliers, venue research & negotiations/contracting and overseeing special projects. The Event Marketing Specialist is responsible for working effectively with internal teams, and external vendors to flawlessly deliver event programs that drive successful results against established strategic objectives, timelines, and financial goals.

**The Role**
- Responsible for day-to-day operational and event management.
- Support the strategic planning and creative development of event initiatives, proactively managing all event needs from branding, agenda design, and venue selection to event execution.
- Develop and manage planning tools, i.e., budget tracking, project timeline, production schedule, event specs, and meeting agendas.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce comprehensive event operational standards, policies, and procedure.
- Track budget costs throughout the course of project and communicate scope changes that affect budget in a clear manner; reconcile budgets.
- Oversee event production and coordination including managing and recommending registration programs, space requirements, food and beverage, attendee. communications, A/V, production, booth design, décor, signage plans and creating event briefs.
- Work across sales and marketing to ensure stakeholder support.
- Work with digital marketing to ensure events are incorporated in social media strategy.
- Produce reports outlining results and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Align event program KPIs to strategic objectives and financial goals.
- Education: University Degree (Communications, Marketing, Commerce)
- Work Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Knowledge: Superior writing and verbal & non-verbal communications skills. Impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills. Self-motivated and resourceful in handling tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- An eye for detail, and the ability to multi-task and manage priorities.
- The ability to quickly get up to speed on Wajax brand, culture, products, and line-of-business sales and growth strategies.
- Metrics-driven mindset, with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
