**Overview**

As a member of our Benefits and HR consulting team, you’ll help our mid to large clients - employers, across all industries to build workplaces that work better. We are looking for a Lead Consultant that has the character and personality to collaborate with an accomplished team of personable and motivated individuals.
This position directly supports the organization’s objective providing a superior level of financial and plan design advice.

The Lead Consultant will work both independently and with a team and have responsibility for an existing block of Benefits and Health business among mid
- to large-size clients across Canada. Focusing primarily on relationship management, the Lead Consultant will maintain a high percentage of client retention and be an ambassador for the company in the marketplace. The Lead Consultant will also participate in finalist meetings for prospective clients.

**How you'll make an impact**
- Manage a block of clients and own responsibility for the growth of those clients
- Develop and maintain close relationships with clients and underwriters, acting as their primary contact and liaison
- Accountability for client satisfaction and management of actions such as, but not limited to, renewal negotiations, strategic plan design discussions and financial reviews
- Monitor client satisfaction level with underwriters and Gallagher
- Oversee actions and tasks as a project manager
- Monitor the client satisfaction level with underwriter and Gallagher
- Evaluate and judge the similarities, differences, and capabilities of the various
underwriters
- Communicate face-to-face with clients on a regular basis to deliver information
and assess status.
- Proactively market new products, services, and tools to existing clients to
improve the value of their benefit investment or decrease service costs
Participate in off-site meetings intended to acquire client feedback and direction
and to share knowledge and expertise
Support the Team and work with the cross-functional team to:

- Prepare for prospect meetings and presentations
- Assist in client-specific responses to Requests for Proposal
- Present with team at finalist meetings
- Represent Gallagher externally in the marketplace
- Participate and lead internal company projects as necessary
- Travel as required for clients, prospects, and external industry events

**About you**
- Minimum 3 years of consulting, account management, underwriting or technical
experience gathered at an insurance company and/or consulting firm
- Thorough, up-to-date knowledge of Canadian benefits industry
- Ability to express technical aspects of group insurance in report and letter

format
- Strong planning and time management skills
- Knowledge of traditional/flexible benefits and various funding arrangements
- Able to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic environment
- Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills required
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
