**Interested?**
We’re looking for an Indigenous Summer Student to join our Edmonton Maintenance department to complete equipment checks and terminal maintenance, painting, cleaning, lawn and weed control, and will work in a safe manner at all times. The student will also have the opportunity to learn about Gibson Energy's Operations Management System (OMS) and will be involved in the documentation function relating to OMS.

**What You'll Be Doing**
- Ensure personal safety and follow safe operating procedures for facilities.
- Maintain current safety training and certification.
- Learn and become familiar with and follow all Gibson’s EH&S manuals and policies.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Demonstrate competency and follow Standard Operating Procedures, as trained.
- Demonstrates competency and follows maintenance procedures.
- Completes general upkeep, routine, and regularly scheduled maintenance of facilities.
- Completes equipment checks and terminal maintenance, painting, cleaning, lawn and weed control.
- Reports problems to Supervisor.
- Performs routine building maintenance.
- Most of the work is performed in an outdoor environment. Employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the Company’s safety policies and as required for weather conditions.
- This position requires skills with the ability to lift, carry and pull up to 50 lbs, effectively work at heights, climb stairs and ladders frequently and walk for 50-60% of the shift which may include walking on uneven surfaces.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
- May perform other duties as assigned.

**What You'll Bring**
- Enrolled in post secondary education.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Has strong mechanical aptitude.
- Strong MS Excel and Word skills.
- Knowledge or previous summer work experience in the petroleum industry would be an asset.
- Is a motivated team player, capable of managing several concurrent and varied projects.
- Safety conscious; work in a safe manner at all times.
- A quick learner who approaches all projects with a sense of urgency.
- Work with external and internal customers in a courteous and timely manner.
- Willing to work in and contribute to a team environment.
- Carry out responsibilities with minimum supervision.
