Job Summary
**A Brief Overview**
The Relationship Manager, Leadership, Annual & Class Giving is an experienced fundraising professional who is responsible for the design, implementation and management of the reunion/class giving program as well as leadership and annual giving for the Development & Alumni Engagement team at Smith School of Business in collaboration with Queen's Office of Advancement. Objectives will be accomplished by developing and nurturing relationships strategically to meet the highest priorities of the school and Queen's more broadly, and will include a variety of relationship building and fundraising activities to maximize charitable giving on an annual basis. CFRE designation, or working towards this designation is an asset.
This position recommends, creates, and implements key aspects of development programs, including developing and implementing goals and strategies to maximize funding for priorities. This position organizes annual giving and donor engagement activities and events including volunteer management practices, evaluating program performance, and recommending solutions. This position directs, allocates and supervises the work of other staff.

**What you will do**
- Recommends, develops and implements communication and donor engagement and giving strategies with various donor groups.
- Identifies, evaluates, and recommend approaches to gaining or deepening relationships with current and prospective donors.
- Develops objectives, discusses strategies for meeting objectives and executing annual plans, and resolves barriers to plan implementation.
- Identifies, evaluates, and solicits prospective alumni donors.
- Oversees events from concept to execution including event details, communications, venue management, registration, participant activity and engagement, and post-event feedback. This includes overseeing budgets, timelines, staffing, and other aspects of the event.
- Employs effective volunteer management practices, evaluates program performance, recommends changes to enhance program effectiveness, anticipates, analyzes and recommends solutions.
- Oversees volunteers and their staffing to support relationship building and fundraising goals at events and in programs.
- Directs, allocates, and supervises the work of other staff.
**Required Education**
- Four-Year Bachelor Degree or equivalent. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.
**Required Experience**
- More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
- Knowledge of relationship building, fundraising and stewardship considered an asset.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
**Job Knowledge and Requirements**

- Identify in advance when the intended results may not be achieved and develop a plan to address the gaps.
- Actively participate in project team meetings and develop team and unit project plans.
- Lead procedural or technological change within a unit.
- Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work processes.
- Seek information and input to fully understand the cause of problems.
- Appropriately assesses risks before making a decision.
- Contribute to the creation and evaluation of possible solutions.
- Take action to remove obstacles and address problems before the impact performance and results.
- Promote a work environment that is free from sexual violence, harassment and discrimination, and the ability to show empathy for those who have experienced trauma.
- Monitor and assess output and the quality of work from team members and recommend need for formal training or development plans to management and identify possible performance and/or disciplinary issues.
