**Job Title**: Marketing Assistant

**Reports Directly To**: Marketing & Design Manager
**Job Summary**: Responsible for assisting in the marketing of all areas of the business including Hotel, Corporate Meetings, Golf Course, Fitness Centre, Restaurants, Charity Organization and Housing Developments through the development of social media posts, literature, signage, promotions, advertising, graphic design and digital campaigns.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- **Social Media**:Account management and growth. Content creation including writing, photography, video and basic graphic design for posts. Scheduling of posts. Developing strategies for account growth. Customer interactions. Contest development. Event postings. Paid promotions.
- **Content Development**:Copywriting for website, eblasts, social media, directories, editorials, and press releases. Develop customer responses for property review sites.
- **Marketing & Advertising**:Assisting with all aspects of internal and external advertisements and promotions. Including researching publications and advertising venues, and presenting recommendations for future campaigns. Creating budgets for advertising and event spending. Track and analyze success of completed campaigns, report results and provide recommendations. Creates new digital and ad campaigns at the direction of management to grow the business. Google Ad campaign development and maintenance. Search engine optimization knowledge.
- **Standards Maintenance**:Responsible for carrying out weekly resort walk-through. Checking that all marketing material and affiliated advertising are up to date and well stocked in all areas of the property. Checking that time sensitive items on company websites and directories are posted / removed. Maintaining events calendars.
- **Design**:Able to create basic graphics for social media to accompany posts. Able to open and update existing print and digital materials to assist in-house designer. Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator skills for image creation / manipulation required.
- **Promotional / Event Assistance**: Tradeshow booking, logistics and coordination of promotional materials, booth, supplies, etc. Assists with preparations for events spearheaded by the marketing department such as dining promotions, craft show management, some special occasion coverage. Responsibilities may include booking of entertainment, procuring supplies, hands-on projects such as decorating, etc. Creating ad plans, promotions and participating in the development of marketing materials for events.
- **Administrative Tasks**: Creating online and PDF forms. Developing internal procedures. Purchase orders. Data entry for mailing lists. Call and sales tracking lists. Other tasks as required.
Requirements & Specialized Skills:
- Social media experience including creating a content plan, taking engaging photos and video, writing and researching content, knowledge of hashtags and mentions, using scheduling software.
- Excellent writing and content development skills.
- Knowledge and skilled use of Adobe design programs including Photoshop and Illustrator required.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently as well as in a team setting.
- Strong organizational, communication and administrative skills.
- Flexible work schedule - must be able to work evenings and weekends on occasion.
- Event planning / coordination, trade show experience an asset.
Education & Certification:
- A post-secondary education in advertising / marketing / digital and social media is required.
- 2+ years experience in marketing field and asset.
