**Highway /LTL Dispatcher**

**Description**

Traffic Team Inc is a asset-based carrier. We specialize in delivering your assets, on time and on budget. With the diverse fleet of equipment, we can handle a range of freight, including dedicated loads, specialized hauls, temperature-controlled goods and HAZMAT cargo.

Traffic Team Inc invests time and support into its employees to provide them with the room to learn and grow their expertise and work their way up. The position covers various aspects of line haul and city dispatching including communicating with drivers, customers and customs officials as well as reporting to the dispatch manager.

**Responsibilities**:

- Planning and building route for LTL and FTL
- Plan and schedule drivers efficiently, resulting in the reduction/elimination of non-revenue hours, empty miles and an increase in driver productivity
- Dispatch Drivers live with frequent communication via text and phone throughout day
- Be the front line contact for drivers regarding scheduling and work availability
- Communicate with drivers to ensure that appointment delivery times are met
- Booking, planning and tracking the movement of customer freight
- Create Run Sheets for Drivers
- Managing customer enquiries directly and/or with CSR’s to provide answers and support
- Investigate customer complaints and accidents regarding services and policies
- Take customer orders for services and update accounts
- Coordinate and plan with department peers to effectively and efficiently dispatch the company’s resource
- Communicate specific freight requirements and procedures to drivers
- Handle customer inquiries in a timely, professional manner
- Update customer web portals with up-to-date load information
- Analyze resource utilization and generate reports as needed

**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- 1-2 Years of trucking industry and/or dispatch experience is an asset.
- Booking loads over the load boards and existing customer.
- 1-2 Years of planning and scheduling freight
- Strong Microsoft Office Experience
- Strong Customer Service Experience
- Professional verbal and written skills, ability to type 30 wpm
- Ability to work independently and work within a team
- Freshers with excellent verbal and written communication
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-stress situations calmly and effectively
- Demonstrated ability to actively manage multiple, concurrent projects
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations preferred
- Positive attitude with good people skills

**Education**:

- High school Diploma

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

**Regular Shift**:Days (8am-5pm or 9am-6pm)

**Weekend Coverage may required**

**Shift: 9am - 5pm or 10am to 4pm**

**Experience**:

- LTL Dispatch: 2 years (preferred)
- Local Dispatching: 1 year (preferred)

**Salary**: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
