**About the role**

The Corporate Strategy team works with the entire corporation to set strategic priorities that are designed to address our enterprise risks and advance CDIC’s mandate. As the Manager, Corporate Strategy, you will play a key role in delivering on those objectives. The incumbent must also demonstrate a willingness to contribute as necessary and help foster a sense of teamwork for the entire Corporate Strategy team. The incumbent will be a self-starter and have a broad interest in economic and financial sector issues.

This role can be performed from our Ottawa or Toronto offices, following a hybrid model approach. This is a full-time temporary opportunity for a period of one year (12 months).

**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES required for this role**
- Play an integral role in leading the strategic processes of CDIC, including but not limited to, the development of quarterly corporate reports, the Corporation’s ESG strategy, and the drafting of the corporate plan and annual report. The foundation of these processes is driving strategy formulation across the organization, which includes facilitating annual Strategy sessions with CDIC Management and the Board of Directors.
- Liaise with Treasury Board Secretariat and the Department of Finance in relation to CDIC’s statutory requirements. This will involve learning and advising on machinery of government and guidance regarding the Corporation’s accountability to the Government and Parliament.
- Work with the team and others across the corporation to set strategic priorities that are designed to address our enterprise risks and advance CDIC’s mandate. This can involve identifying enterprise-level themes to assess opportunities/threats/innovations and researching select issues to assess if and how they may affect CDIC (or working with others on same).
- Establish and regularly report to CDIC Management and the Board of Directors on corporate performance indicators.
- Other support to the Corporate Strategy team as required.

**SKILLS you bring**
- Degree from a recognized university with a specialization in political science, economics, finance, public administration, international affairs or in a field relevant to the duties of the position. The specialization may be obtained at the undergraduate or graduate level or may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Experience in corporate strategy and/or corporate planning/reporting, with experience in corporate plan / annual report development.
- Experience working in the financial sector, or in the federal or provincial public service or Crown corporation.
- Experience in corporate performance reporting.
- Three or more years of experience in providing briefings and advice to senior management on complex economic, financial sector, policy, or legal issues.

**Additional Assets**
Although not required, the following would be considered an asset:

- Experience in receiving and providing direction and feedback on briefing material/reports and ensuring timely execution of tasks.
- Experience in project management delivery and practices.
- Graduate Degree from recognized university
- Bilingual
