Reporting to the Executive Director of Educational Services, the primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership to the coordination of delivering wellbeing supports to school-aged children, youth and families. This will include direct delivery of key health services in schools and the support of existing multi-agency student support teams in all families of schools across the province. Core teams delivering services in schools will include student well-being social workers, registered nurses, outreach workers, family support workers and school-based counselors.
**Duties will include but are not limited to**:
- Provide leadership and coordination to the Student Well-being team program, ensuring work progresses as per agreed to timelines and milestones;
- Establish committees and reporting mechanisms to support the continued development and implementation of key program activities;
- Work closely with health and justice leaders to ensure programming is aligned and services are optimized;
- Coordinate development of key program policies and service guidelines, protocols, etc.;
- Provide oversight to ensure teams are functioning within the program policies and guidelines;
- Provide day-to-day oversight and coordination to teams, ensuring appropriate scheduling, coverage, problem resolution, service response, etc.;
- Schedule and facilitate regular meetings with teams and team leads to include opportunities for ongoing program monitoring and team development;
- Coordinate training and professional development for program staff;
- Provide supervision of Student Well-being program staff in addition to the supervision of casework for the Family Support Workers;
- Work with community organizations, business and school leadership to identify and promote opportunities to support child, youth and family wellbeing. This may involve after school programs, Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), etc.;
- Implement existing operationalization plan, including overseeing the development of client service metrics with a view to measuring impact of interventions on student health and school performance outcomes;
- Chair the Administrative Table Committee and provide support to Operations Committee;
- Collaborate in the development of communication tools to support awareness of student supports available in schools and encourage participation in health promotion activities and events; and
- Other duties as required.
**Minimum Qualifications**:
- Must have a Master’s degree in a Human Services (ex. Health, Counselling, Education, Psychology, Business, etc.) or a related field, including casework supervision.
- Must have considerable experience in a leadership role, including experience supervising staff.
- Must have experience in program planning, project management program and policy development and implementation.
- Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered.
- Must have a good understanding of the PEI education system.
- Demonstrated skill in leadership, collaboration, conflict resolution, and an understanding of group dynamics with skills and flexibility in problem solving and negotiation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member with excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong oral and written skills are essential.
- Must have access to reliable transportation.
- Must have a good previous attendance and work record and a satisfactory criminal record check prior to beginning employment.
**Other Qualifications**:
- Experience working in a school environment and experience working with children or youth is preferred.
