**Position Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
The Waste Auditor will primarily be responsible for scheduling and audit set up, conducting thorough audits, analyzing the data and preparing reports. Specific responsibilities include:
- Scheduling audits and managing the calendar, which includes adjusting services with our dispatch, the client and our team.
- Planning audit methodology and procedures per clients’ needs and requirements.
- Physical sorting and quantification of waste and recycling materials, recording data and taking photos.
- Assessing sites and making observations that can contribute to findings.
- Analyzing data and preparing reports of findings.
- Providing recommendations to improve environmental performance based on findings.
- Reviewing and editing reports for accuracy.
- Participating in Earth Month, Waste Reduction Week and other special events designed to communicate and educate sustainable waste management practices with clients.
- Administrative tasks such as data entry, printing, filing, etc.
- Additional projects as requested.
**Qualifications**
- Recent graduate of an accredited University or College Degree in a related field (preferably environmental management, environmental sciences or environmental technician with a focus or interest in waste management).
- An understanding of, and interest in current environmental and waste management issues, relevant environmental legislation, and familiarity with BOMA, LEED and/or 3R Certification requirements for waste management.
- Highly developed computer skills and an ability to learn new programs quickly. Competency in MS Office (word, excel, outlook) is mandatory.
- Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, with mínimal supervision.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- LEED Green Associate, Standard Waste Audit Method training an asset.
- First Aid certification an asset.
- Valid driver’s license with clean abstract required; full time access to a reliable vehicle.
- Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
**Work Environment**
- This position takes place in both the office and on the road at customer sites.
- This position is a minimum of 40 hours a week.
- Occasional travel outside the GTA may be required.
