**Position Summary**
The Assembler I is responsible for supporting tasks upstream and downstream of commercial pump assembly. This includes picking and staging materials for production, trimming and balancing impellers, testing and painting pumps.
Measures of success:
- Weekly output of 50-60 Pumps/week for 2 assemblers and 60-70 pumps with 3 assemblers.
**Responsibilities**
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Picks all materials required for production
- Trims and balances impellers to specification
- Ensures accuracy, completeness, condition of materials during staging
- Hydro test pumps and record test results
- Troubleshoot issues during tests and work with assembler to rework pumps for failed tests
- Paints pumps and ensures high quality result
- Updates ERP for work performed; maintain records as directed
- Completes orders of highest priorities daily; ensures maximum output for work area
- Maintains orderly work area; ensures equipment is in good operating condition
- Adheres to all safety policies and wears personal protective equipment as required
**Qualifications**
Required:
- 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of the pump assembly process
- Must successfully learn specific responsibilities as assigned
- Forklift experience required
- Physically able to manipulate hand tools and power tools and push, pull, lift and/or move materials of up to 60 lbs.
- Able to operate material handling equipment including pallet jacks
- Competent to operate computer and complete basic data entry in systems
- Attention to detail is essential for success
- Well organized
- Capable of following written and/or verbal instruction
Preferred:
- Lathe and/or machining experience
- Knowledge and ability to use calipers for taking measurements
- Painting experience
**Work Environment**
This position works primarily in production plant where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety gear is required in these areas. Working in paint booth at times wearing mask, goggles and other PPE as required.
