Job brief
At Baba Chicken, we are looking for a professional Line Cook/ Perp Cook who can work under pressure and prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and keep the stations always clean and ready for menu preparation. Line Cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. You will be sure to make meaningful, career-enhancing connections and lifelong friends along the way.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensuring & maintain the quality of each dish in busy hours.
- Re-stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Follow safe food handling procedures at all times
- Follow recipes to the exact specifications
- Function as part of a team, support in all areas of the kitchen
- Complete prep lists to ensure enough product is available for service
- Preparing food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Keep the work area, utensils and production equipment in a clean, sanitized state at all times
- Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
**Requirements**:
- Previous cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook in a full-service restaurant considered to be an asset
- Energetic and accuracy speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Must have an ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paces environment.
Pay: Up to $3,000.00 per month
**Experience**:
- cooking: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
