We're also looking at what's next for you and how we can help you build a career you're proud of. We are looking for a Communications Specialist for our Solar Canada office, located in Oakville, Ontario.
**Responsibilities**:
- Leads PCL’s portfolio of internal and external communication activities, products, and initiatives.
- Writes clear, concise business communications that are tailored to the right audience and recommends communications mediums.
- Provides advanced editing and proofreading support.
- Creates and executes measurable internal and external communications plans for small to mid-size projects and related initiatives.
- Creates and enhances PCL’s brand awareness through internal and external communications.
- Develops relationships with media and pitches stories on a regular basis, hosts media tours, etc. that result in positive media stories for the district/company.
- Develops social media content and understands social media platforms, audience preferences and risks.
- Monitors local media-relations efforts and acting as support for crisis communications.
- Leads events and provides communication and logistic coordination.
- Provides communications consultation and identifies opportunities for PCL to be thought leaders in.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, or equivalent.
- 4 years of progressive experience in a communications role.
- Ability to create and execute a communications plan and has an understanding of communications mediums and visual assets.
- Ability to research, analyze, and organize information accurately and effectively.
- Strong editing and proofreading skills.
- Working knowledge of data analytics.
- Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other communications software with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
