**Shop/Yard Hand**

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Shop/Yard Hand is a key member of Southview’s team. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in repairing and maintaining the fleet.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in performing preventative and predictive maintenance on all equipment
- Help mechanics in diagnosing cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications
- Maintain a clean and tidy personal work area and assist with general cleaning duties in the workshop and yard
- Maintain a daily record of all work tasks and materials
- Responsible for assisting mechanics with regular paperwork
- Support and encourage continuous improvement in work practices
- Perform related work as required

**Requirements**:

- A G driver’s license is the minimum requirement needed
- A 310 S and 310 T certification is preferred but not required
- Must possess and exhibit strong safety acumen and demonstrate safe work practices
- Previous experience in the hydrovac or trucking industry preferred
- Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Operate and maintain Company’s equipment in a safe and professional manner
- Properly document all Company, Federal, Provincial and Customer documentation/paperwork as required by law and or established policy in a clear and legible manner

**Essential Physical Functions**
- Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty
- Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl
- Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Must be able to climb ladders, and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights
- Must be capable of working extended hours and variable shifts
- Must be eligible to work in Canada

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
