Student Conduct and Peer Support Coordinator

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
This position will provide administrative and program support to initiatives that contribute to education about and adherence to the Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy (SRR). The incumbent will support the Manager of Student Conduct and Harm Reduction in maintaining a database of concerns reported in the Carleton community and facilitating educational, outcome focused conversations with students. The role is responsible for organizing, coordinating and overseeing initiatives that support students’ transition, integration, and success in the university and provide meaningful ways for students to engage in the community.
**Qualifications**:
**The incumbent must possess the following qualifications**:
- Ability to engage in difficult conversations with individuals in heightened emotional states.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required for the effective administration of the student conduct process.
- Group leadership and supervisory skills, as well as knowledge of student life and related issues, presentation experience, and training experience.
- Knowledge and expertise in translating student development theory to practice is essential.
- Proven experience in building relationships with partner organizations (campus departments, student associations, etc) based on mutual trust, respect, genuineness, and commitment.
**Education and Experience**:
**The above is normally acquired through the completion of**:
- Four (4) year Bachelor’s degree, or a three year university degree and post graduate certificate in Student Affairs from a recognized college.
- Two years’ of experience with student experience/leadership program organization and development, staff and volunteer training and supervision, and experience working with student organizations as community partners.
