**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager, MultiMedia Services, the Consultant is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the development and delivery of digital media products, to Island Health clients and partners including clinical departments; Communications and Public Relations; leadership team; Board of Governors; funding foundations; government and post-secondary education partners. This position has a lead role in the creation of health promotion, community engagement, patient education, staff training and corporate messaging assets.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as Media Production, Adult Education or Computing Science with a focus on digital media production preferred and five (5) years' recent work experience in producing Multi-Media programs, preferably in a health care environment.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Expert knowledge of and competence with current video production and multimedia capture equipment including HD cameras, DSLR cameras, lighting, sound and peripherals, computing networks and production server environments.
- Advanced knowledge of video and multimedia production software; MediaShare, Final Cut Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, Compressor, DVD Studio Pro, Logic Pro, Adobe CS6, Digital Performer, Camtasia, Captivate, Lectora, Udutu or comparable authoring software
- Proven ability to plan, produce and deliver professional Multi-Media productions in a timely fashion and within budgetary constraints
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work across all levels of the health care system and Island Health's publics, with sensitivity to personal privacy, care constraints, and confidentiality issues.
- Ability to manage and supervise professional, technical and administrative staff
- Proven experience organizing and directing diverse groups simultaneously, including production teams, volunteers, project talent and health care staff
- Ability to work independently, with individuals and with teams
- Advanced computing skills in Linux, MacOSX, IOS, Windows, Android platforms
- Valid BC Drivers' License and use of a personal vehicle
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
