Head Custodian

The Head Custodian is responsible for overseeing and providing support for the daily operations of the custodial staff, procedures, and processes within all Parks & Attractions.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Supervising, coordinating, and directing the activities of the custodial staff as they perform the daily cleaning duties within all Parks & Attractions
- Working on the floor to oversee the schedules, routines and completion of all cleaning activities to ensure all set standards of cleanliness are adhered to at all times.
- Acting as a leader and mentor in the department to train and develop staff members to accomplish duties and responsibilities to the best of their abilities.
- Establishing and implementing production routines and coordinating work activities with other departments while responding to special requests and problem-solving tasks when required.
- Assisting with monitoring facility quality control and staff productivity levels while ensuring correct and safe utilization and maintenance of all cleaning equipment, supplies and materials.
- Ensuring all products, materials, and supplies are well stocked and utilized efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Ensuring all Custodial employees adhere to West Edmonton Mall Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures, and standards.

**Desired Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role/management role in the custodial/cleaning industry.
- Experience working in a large-scale facility with many staff members and strong management and leadership abilities.
- Completion of supervisory/management education and training is an asset.
- Strong communication skills proven to solve problems and utilize crisis management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills complemented by a strong sense of professionalism and a keen eye for detail.
- A flexible schedule that allows for mornings, days, and weekend work.

**Terms of Employment**:

- This is a full-time position that requires flexible availability Monday through Sunday, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.

**Salary**: $17.00 per hour
