The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is currently seeking an Infrastructure & Renewable Resources (I&RR) Portfolio Administration co-op student/intern for the Fall 2025 work term (September - December) to provide admin support across a range of essential portfolio administration functions, including KPI collection, and AI tool integration.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
On behalf of BCI’s clients, I&RR team invests globally in infrastructure businesses that provide stable long-term results. BCI’s I&RR portfolio has $20+ billion in AUM and ranks as the ninth largest institutional infrastructure investor globally. The portfolio spans a range of sectors including energy, transport, utilities, and data infrastructure as well as tangible assets in timberland and agriculture.
I&RR seeks meaningful investments predominantly in private companies enabling an active governance approach. The team invests in a variety of capacities in the private markets including as a sole sponsor, co-investor, and very selectively through externally managed funds. In addition, I&RR takes positions in listed infrastructure businesses as a complementary strategy to private markets investments.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING- Work under the supervision of the Senior Portfolio Administrator to assist with various projects- Coordinate lifecycle events for complex investments and maintain investment records- Review and reconcile external manager reporting of accounts with internal records; perform true-ups or adjustments in the book of record- Assist with rebalancing process, ensuring acceptable completion and validating integrity of data in all templates and systems- Manage KPI collection cycle and ensure compliance with quarterly reporting deadlines- Assist with quarterly currency hedging cycle, liaising with Derivative, Indexing & Trading team- Liaise with technology team on ongoing development of AI tools- Ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the team
REQUIRED SKILLS- A fundamental knowledge of basic business and investment-related disciplines is essential- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy, excellent product quality, and attention to detail- Has an interest in investment administration, a dedication to hard work, commitment to the highest ethical standards, and an eagerness to learn- Strong communication skills combined with analytical and problem-solving abilities- Ability to use Excel, Word and Outlook
